Gene Moore

He was a baseball prodigy. At the age of fifteen, Gene Moore was a boy, playing like a man, in a game where men, play like boys.

Headed for baseball stardom with the Brooklyn Dodgers, his destiny was interrupted by
Pearl Harbor.
His life... and
maybe our
national
pastime...
would be
forever altered.

Sitting at Gate B-10 at Chicago Midway Airport
by Gary Moore
Wednesday, February 28th 2007

Dear Friends,

I am sitting at Gate B-10 at Chicago Midway Airport typing this message, on my way to book discussions and signings in San Antonio and Austin, Texas. Tonight, I am at this gate working on a project that we cannot yet announce but it brings back the memory of hours and hours sitting in airports and on planes (Southwest of course!) while traveling for business and writing Playing with the Enemy. Little did I know that the story of "the country boy from Sesser, Illinois" would be loved and embraced by so many across the nation and in fact around the world. Thank you for your continued interest in the story of Gene Moore. Let me fill you in on what is going on!

The Book: Playing with the Enemy is selling very well and in fact, picking up steam across the country. As I have said to you before, being a first time author who has penned a story about a person no one has ever heard of does not make for an easy sale! But nevertheless, Playing with the Enemy is still picking up steam. The momentum is growing and this book is not even close to peaking yet. I do need your continued help spreading the word, so keep talking it up to your friends and coworkers. Your recommendation to others is worth far more than a paid advertisement. Also, please consider writing a review of Playing with the Enemy at www.amazon.com or www.bn.com or both! On Amazon, we have 45 5-Star reviews and growing. I would be so grateful if you would add yours to the growing group of online reviews. Finally, who do you know in the media? Any help you can give us for interview or review opportunities really helps. Do you know someone in print, radio or television?

The Movie: David Ranes of Whitelight Entertainment assures me that they are on track and enthused to begin filming early this summer! All plans are subject to change until the director calls for "action" but so far so good. Over the next few months they will be making announcements regarding casting. I think you will be absolutely delighted with what you will hear, so stay tuned!

Fathers Day: Fathers Day is roughly three months away and I hope you will consider Playing with the Enemy as the perfect Fathers Day gift! Will you keep us in mind and tell others about Playing with the Enemy for Fathers Day?

News from Sesser: Mayor Ned Mitchell and the good people of Sesser, Illinois are doing their part! If you have not heard, go to www.playingwiththeenemy.com and click on "Mayor that Roared!" Thank you Sesser for all your effort. Let's keep the pressure up and bring Oprah to the Sesser Opera (Oprah) House!

The passion that so many of you feel for this story warms my heart in ways that are impossible to express. Arlene and I are so grateful for your enthusiasm and support of Playing with the Enemy. Please stick with us and together we will drive this story to the top!

Warmest Regards,

Gary
